Since its establishment in 2015, the Hong Kong Yoga Academy has offered a wide range of yoga teacher training courses, including RYT-200, RYT-300, RPYT-85 Prenatal Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, Yoga Wheel, Tripscore, Sound Bowl Healing, and Energy Flow, among others. We have successfully completed over 45 sessions of the RYT-200 Yoga Teacher Training course. Our mission is to provide high-quality yoga education, and our rich experience has made us the top choice for students.

Our courses are taught by instructors with over 20 years of teaching experience. One of our lead instructors is among the few in Hong Kong to be globally certified by the Ashtanga Yoga Institution and has trained in India for more than 10 years. In addition, she is a registered prenatal yoga teacher, a certified Flyoga aerial yoga instructor, and a disciple of Paul Grilley, the founder of Yin Yoga. She also served as a teaching instructor at the 2023 Korea Yoga Festival. With her extensive experience and deep knowledge of yoga, she is an ideal mentor for students looking to deepen their practice and teaching skills.

As a yoga school internationally certified by the Yoga Alliance in the United States, we place great emphasis not only on the learning process and outcomes during our courses but also on providing comprehensive support for our graduates' career development. Understanding that newly certified instructors require practical experience and industry resources, we have designed a series of specialized support measures. This includes prioritizing our graduates for teaching positions in all classes, substitute teaching, corporate training sessions, and charity programs associated with our school, thereby creating more career opportunities for them. We also offer free venue rental for three months after graduation, giving graduates ample time to apply what they've learned and gain teaching experience. Furthermore, we have established an interactive community specifically for graduates, allowing them to exchange information about substitute teaching and teaching opportunities, support one another, and grow together. We also assist graduates in creating personal web pages to enhance their professional image and promote them online, helping them to be recognized by more studios and students.

Additionally, for those graduates who aspire to open their own yoga studios, we provide substantial support. The school assists with promotion, utilizes social media platforms to increase their visibility, and offers access to our Booking System for new studios to help attract students and build a stable client base. We are proud that our academy has successfully trained many graduates who have gone on to establish their own yoga studios, achieving significant success along the way. Whether in teaching, management, or market expansion, we are always by our graduates' side, providing full support to help them realize their professional dreams.

Part 1. Yoga Philosophy 30 hours

Yoga Alliance certified teacher training provides a solid foundation to teach yoga, inspire others and deepen your own personal practice. The focus of this course is to provide students with applied knowledge of yoga exploring the deep origin and history of yoga on a philosophical basis, meaning of the classical yoga text: Yoga Sutra, 8 limbs of yoga, what they mean and how to implement in yoga practice. We will discuss other important texts of yoga, and find the true meaning of practising yoga and teaching with a deep focus on yoga philosophy. This course will help you bring out your creativity, to find your voice and to give you the confidence to teach, educate and inspire students from a powerful yoga foundation. This training is appropriate for the serious students who would like to start teaching yoga, as well as for students who would like to deepen their own knowledge and personal practice. You will take away a deeper understanding of philosophy and spiritual side of yoga that combines together to create an exceptional Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher.

Part 2. Yoga Anatomy 30 hours

The course is designed to avoid long-winded anatomical terms and learn relevant knowledge based on yoga practice so that students can practise yoga from a scientific point of view and avoid injuries. Each person's body structure is different, your posture and the usual habit of sitting and walking posture will affect your muscles and bones differently, so not a standard or method can be suitable for everyone to practise in the same yoga class. It is very dangerous to practise yoga by using simply imitation or blind practice. You should have sufficient analytical skills and physical function when you teach or practise in advanced yoga classes as a professional yoga teacher. Learn to practise correctly and effectively to help yourself and others to avoid injuries.

Part 3. Teaching Skills & Sequencing 30 hours

INFORMATIVE: this part explains how the teacher designs the format and sets the pace of the class, where the teacher can create the space to explain the form of the postures, asanas and their interconnectedness.

VERSATILE: a sequence can be personalised for body type, skill level, and intended effect especially for self-practice or private lessons. One can teach variations of postures, put together a sequence that addresses specific skillset and practice goals, to create classes suitable for those with hyper mobility who need to build strength and stability, as well as for those whose practices are limited due to their lack of range of motion.

PROGRESSIVE: one can incorporate techniques from other disciplines. One of the reasons why today's top practitioners are stronger and more skillful than previous generations of yogis is because they share information and collaborate with people from other disciplines. Yoga may also transcend some of the pitfalls of traditional yoga, the dogmatic adherence to a set sequence that may or may not serve practitioners in the short or long term—the repetition of postures that destabilises certain body types, and immobilises others. It may also keep boredom at bay.

CREATIVE: not only may teachers explore their own creative abilities, but they may leave room for students to make their own creative choices. This training will set you apart as a teacher, provide you with endless practice insights, and refresh your experience of yoga overall. Expect to become a more capable practitioner, to renew your enthusiasm for learning, and to make a thoughtful contribution to the tradition of vinyasa yoga!

Part 4. Core Courses (Asana + Teaching Practice) 110 hours

Part 4. Core Courses (Asana + Teaching Practice) 110 hours Part 4 includes a 60-hour morning intensive schedule on every Mon, Wed and Friday from 6:30pm-8:30pm to help students establish a regular practice habit of teaching, helping you to find joy in your practice at a pace, more important that is convenient for you and your learning. The course offers bringing continuous teaching as we might very well end up exacerbating or at best ignoring our own weaknesses which reflect in our teaching. Combine this with our current obsession with images of extreme flexibility and range of movement, and we run the risk of doing ourselves more harm than good. Make no mistake, big ranges of motion require a corresponding level of strength in order to keep you and your students' joints healthy and to avoid injury. With time and endurance, you will see the difference in your body, as it becomes more toned and firm. As our body gets stronger, so will our minds. We will not be easily shaken up or thrown out of balance with mundane situations and events. Thus the key to a stronger and more stable body and mind is becoming more powerful, toned and, eventually, stronger for your daily yoga routine of practice and teaching. Also the course teaches the use of yoga props, which makes the difference between an uncomfortable practice and a fully engaged session for beginner yoga students. Props are essential for practitioners, who may be holding postures for minutes at a time, in the best possible alignment. For those students who are less flexible, using props ensures correct and safe positioning. Learning the best ways of using yoga tools such as used mats, blocks, straps and bolsters to get the most out of your teaching.
