Part 1 - 30 HoursYin-Yang Energy Balancing & Chair-Based Alignment Techniques
Course Description : This course is designed to help yoga teachers support the physical and energetic needs of older adults through a blend of Yin-Yang yoga, meridian stimulation, and chair-assisted alignment. Trainees will learn how to balance passive and active movements to ease tension, boost circulation, calm the nervous system, and improve sleep. The course also covers safe use of chairs in poses, basic meridian theory, and simple tapping and breathing techniques to enhance seniors’ self-care, confidence, and mind-body connection. Conditions : **To be eligible for certification, students must attend at least 85% of the course and complete all required assignments. Upon fulfillment, they will receive the “YACEP-30: Senior Yin-Yang Yoga & Chair-Based Alignment” certificate issued by Hong Kong Yoga Academy. Part 2 - 35 Hours Mobility Enhancement and Teaching with Props
Course Description : This course focuses on enhancing seniors’ mobility and confidence through dynamic movement training and prop-based support. Participants will learn to sequence chair-based yoga into safe, rhythmic classes using wall ropes, resistance bands, and joint mobility drills. The training also covers common joint limitations, gentle strengthening techniques, and ethical hands-on adjustments. Emphasis is placed on creating a safe, engaging environment that helps seniors move with ease and regain daily function and vitality. Conditions : ****To be eligible for certification, students must attend at least 85% of the course and complete all required assignments. Upon fulfillment, they will receive the “YACEP-35: Mobility Enhancement and Teaching with Props” certificate issued by Hong Kong Yoga Academy. Part 3 - 35 Hours Senior Yoga Teaching Skills
Course Description : This module equips instructors with practical skills to teach safe, adaptive, and engaging yoga classes for older adults. It covers common physical and mental challenges among seniors—such as hypertension, arthritis, fatigue, and emotional changes—and teaches how to assess needs, modify poses, and use props effectively. The course also explores three class styles: energizing, functional strength, and restorative mind-body practices. Teachers will develop confidence in class planning, observation, and communication to support seniors with care and competence. Important Notes : * Only open to students who have completed RYT-200 certification. ** This course is an elective module of the RYT-300 program. It can be taken on its own for a 100-Hour Senior Yoga Teacher Certificate (US Yoga Alliance certified), or counted toward RYT-300 elective hours. Completing all 300 hours qualifies for RYT-500 registration. ** Students must attend at least 85% of each part of the course, complete all assignments, and pass the final assessment in order to receive the certificate.
